I made the monkey to match Annie's dress and then added a tag that says "NO MORE MONKEYS JUMPIN' ON THE BED!"

SPRING RECITAL 2011

My recital was held on May 21st @ 4:00 with 18 students participating.

Following a group photo and awards,(I told the kids, NO awards until we get a photo!) we had light refreshments of fruit, veggies and crackers.

I have to say that it went very well with no major mishaps!

Sorry for not posting lately! I have been busy with my piano recital which will be held this Saturday May 21st. There will be 19 students participating with awards and refreshments to follow!

I will be posting pictures next week! (if I remember to take some!)

I am "just a little" excited for my first recital since moving here! :)

Get a load of Ann and Andy in black and white! There's just something about those colors! I love red or hot pink with black and white! Two of my daughters in law have done their baby's room with pink, black and white.

I had always wanted to paint our colonial house white with black shutters and a red door. Classic!

This is what I made for some of my neighbors this year. I bought a few Symphony bars on sale at Walmart and wrapped them in vintage music titled 'The Birthday of a King'. HERE Then I just added a home made tag with red satin ribbon that read: 'Just a "note" of "sweet" Christmas tidings.'

Book Wreath

I have seen these wreaths all over blog land.

After watching this tutorial by Jenna Deangeles I went to the local thrift store and bought 2 old books for about 3 bucks a piece. I already had glue sticks and a stapler on hand. It took about an hour to make. My daughter in law wanted to make one so we used the same books to make hers. We can probably get 2 or 3 more wreaths out of these books!

I received the latest pattern from Sweet Meadows Farm Tuesday.

Here are the results:

It took more time than I had anticipated~but so much fun to work on. I used two different browns for the doll body~I think I like the lighter spice brown rather than the darker chocolate brown.

So, I have been trying to decorate a shelf and my library cabinet for Halloween. I keep changing them around and driving myself crazy cuz I cant seem to get it just right. Here's a picture of the shelf under the window going downstairs. I think that I will leave this one alone.....for now!

I am on a roll and have been crankin' out the dolls. A lot of inspiration comes from all the new designs in fabric that I see when window shopping in quilt shops. It's so hard NOT to buy! I try to stick with the fabric that's on sale but that selection is pretty limited so I guess the best thing to do is stay home!

Curtains are white with Battenburg lace that I dyed using coffee but you cant see that because of my NON picture taking skills!

It's hard to see the correct color of the walls. There are 3 colors: wall/light beige..trim/a shade lighter than the walls ....accent wall/ light brown.

Almost done! we need Shane's expertise in setting up the computer. On the other side of the room is an identical bookcase and table. The table in the middle of the room will be outta there once we get the puter hooked up where it needs to be.

My kids have been asking repeatedly for me to post pics of our family room. I took colors from the chair and pillows for the paint and trim.....I am really glad that I didnt go with the darker paint chip!

It's about time I got around to posting! My visit with my daughter and her brand new son lasted three weeks...but they went by WAY too fast! I will post some photos of him tonite.

We are now in the process of purging our belongings so we can begin the frustrating task of packing.

The time has finally come....we can officially say that we are moving! We have been talking about it for 4 years! It was not an easy decision to 'up' and leave this home that we built 23 years ago but it's too big and way too empty and we'd really like to be closer to the grandkids.....well....at least some of them! So we'll be going to Payson Utah in 9 weeks!

The nite before we got an offer on our house I found out that Karina (age 6) asked in her family prayer that she hoped "Nana and Pops" would be able to move soon. She just cant wait and is always asking us "when are you coming?".
